Boom-Bang-Boom…

… a Zurich tradition, captured with our ABC crane

Today was the day – the Sechseläuten took place again in Zurich after a two-year hiatus. This centuries-old tradition attracts countless onlookers every year who want to see the Böögg and the colorful parade. Naturally, there’s always a lively betting scene, predicting how long it will take for the Böögg’s head to explode. The faster the head explodes, the better the summer will supposedly be – at least, that’s what tradition says and many believe. Hence, countless people are eagerly anticipating the outcome today.

In addition to the spectators, 3,500 costumed guild members, horses, brass bands, flowers, and flags adorn the popular Zurich spring festival. And amid the festivities is a team from RemoteCamSystems – along with an ABC camera crane. Thanks to its slim and lightweight design, the nimble crane can document the parade up close without obstructing the procession. The live footage goes directly to (television) viewers at home who prefer to admire the parade from the comfort of indoors.

Thank you for the spectacular assignment – fingers crossed for a quickly exploding head or, at least, a sun-filled summer in 2022
