Horse racing from the bird’s eye view

While camels were predominantly seen in races in the past, horse racing in Saudi Arabia is gaining increasing popularity. Since 2020, the legendary Saudi Cup has been taking place, attracting people of all ages and backgrounds who come together to cheer for their favorites, have fun, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The world’s richest horse race can be witnessed up close or on one of the numerous screens. The coverage alternates between the crowd, close-ups of the horses and jockeys, and an overview of the race. This way, everyone can follow the thrilling race, which takes place on both sand and turf. Responsible for these bird’s-eye view shots is a team from RemoteCamSystems. With a 900-meter-long cable installed high above the racecourse, the Cablecam ensures highly professional live footage. The cable camera expertly glides 34 meters between two cranes over the heads of the numerous spectators and participants. The camera system withstands the hot weather and flying sand, documenting every close race.

We sincerely thank you for the assignment, allowing us to provide captivating live footage. Now it’s time to clean the system from the sand and move on to the next assignment, where a new challenge awaits us
