THE CABLECAM AND THE U21 BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CUP IN LUZERN
16.05.2016
Extra-fine sand, attention-catching rallies and an exceptional atmosphere: This year’s Pentecost weekend was dominated by beach volleyball! The young volleyball elite met for the U21 world cup at the beach establishment Lido in Luzern. NEP Switzerland AG asked RemoteCamSystems to create exciting footage of the event from above
Cablecam: Directly above center court
The U21 world cup began on May 11, took place during the Pentecost holidays, and ended on May 16. Our team was on location during both days of the finals and filmed on-site in the Center Court with the Cablecam Studio System. The footage was broadcasted live on Tele 1! Our Cablecam System was perfectly able to capture both the fast moves and the emotions of the 2,500 spectators in the Center Court.
Beach volleyball with Swiss teams
Brazil, Canada, Japan, Mexico, China, and of course, Switzerland: Athletes from around the world met at the Lido Luzern to compete in the sand. The Swiss team Florian Breer made it into the quarter-finals, where they were defeated by the Mexican team, which ultimately lost against the Brazilians. The Swiss women Selina Marolf and Dunja Gerson did not make it past the group stage. Nevertheless: They delivered a notable performance.
